Training
DeLuca’s Sports Performance programs are tailored to meet the needs of each individual client. Strength & conditioning programs are combined with customized training methods focused on generating measurable increases in speed and strength. DeLuca’s athletes are endowed with a competitive edge through individualized programs, small groups, good facility logistics, experienced instruction, and outstanding customer service.
CHARACTER TRAINING
Strong character is vital not only to excelling at the next level of competition, but to excelling in life. DeLuca’s focuses on nurturing a strong individual by building self-discipline, self-esteem and strong core values.
DeLuca’s staff pride themselves on using proper language, exuding a positive attitude and always putting forth their best efforts. DeLuca’s Sports Performance is not easy; but when customers reach their goals, it makes the commitment to a challenging program worth the effort.
PROMOTING IMPROVEMENT
DeLuca’s Sports Performance takes pride in helping every athlete achieve his or her vision. While success on the playing field is not guaranteed, measurable improvement in the athlete’s speed and strength is. These improvements will be tracked and charted through periodic testing and evaluation. By the end of the initial eight-week period, every client should see measurable results, and have charted proof of his or her accomplishments.
SCHOLASTIC TRAINING PROGRAMS
DeLuca’s programs are tailored to help each customer overcome his or her weaknesses while enhancing and complementing personal strengths. All of DeLuca’s programs are derived from the latest methods, and are then modified to provide the maximum benefit based on an individual’s goals, sport, and age.
The following are levels at which the athletes can train:
- Beginner (0-12 months consistent/intermittent training) – Programs are designed around learning fundamentals of speed and strength. Athletes are taught how to land and summate force, starting and stopping speed mechanics, change of direction techniques, bodyweight strength and functional training, balance and core stabilization training. Establishing a solid training foundation is critical for retention as progress is made nearly every training session and results are plentiful.
- Returning (12+ months consistent training) – training is more advanced and progress is measured over months compared to the daily supercompensation effects experienced by beginners. Programs are more individualized with regularly planned deload periods.
DeLuca’s programs are designed to develop specific sport skills as well as overall speed and strength. The following sports are samples of ones for which DeLuca’s has developed training methods:

COLLEGE AND PRO TRAINING PROGRAMS
The college athlete reaps tremendous benefits from using DeLuca’s during the summer off-season, or when preparing for the professional level. Programs are geared to help them meet their goals. Also, professional athletes love to use DeLuca’s programs and facilities because they can gain a competitive advantage by training in a private and sports specific environment. Pro athletes must perform their off-season work away from public distractions, and DeLuca’s helps them stay healthier so they play longer into their careers.
ADULT GOLF AND TENNIS TRAINING
DeLuca’s unique training atmosphere which blends functional strength training with sports medicine and the latest in functional movement assessments has attracted adult golfers and tennis players alike. Both male and female clients are trained either in groups (like our scholastic athletes) or individually. Their programs are centered around their goals and movement deficiencies as identified in the TPI Golf Assessment or Functional Movement Screen.
ADULT FAT LOSS
Like our scholastic athletes, adults are looking for simple and affordable ways to stay in shape. Hiring a personal trainer isn’t in most peoples budget anymore. As such, we’ve witnessed continued trends in bootcamp style workouts and an increased interest in fitness for those who are over 50 years old. DeLuca’s offers circuit style workouts using many of the same functional exercises elite athletes perform to keep the training environment fun, challenging and different from the “ground and pound” bootcamp formats out there.
SCHEDULING
DeLuca’s unique online scheduling system allows clients the flexibility to schedule sessions on demand. The on-demand model is created by maintaining slots of time allocated to a specific training level (beginner or returning) in the facility. Consequently, each session will have athletes of the same training level working together; sport grouping is done accordingly. Monitored testing sessions are offered every Saturday. These sessions are tracked to insure the proper amount of time is taken between sets, and that all results are properly documented.
